Precious

I finally finished watching the old Japanese drama ('Yamato Nadeshiko' translated as 'Perfect Woman') which I borrowed since last October this afternoon! The VCD set had been sitting on my side desk and collecting dust until I saved from under the pile of books after lunch just now. By the end of the 8 episodes I have the urge to rewatch 'Overtime', another Japanese drama which was quite popular and aired in the same year as Yamato Nadeshiko nine years ago.

Hurhurhur. I sound like a person with 'ample history' to look back on.

There were many hilarious parts and some emo scenerios to balance the whole romance plot, although sometimes the fairytale-like elements may seem abit out of the world, the conflicts and contradiction between the characters and within themselves consistently tugged me back towards reality. There were many wise words in the scripts too, especially those of the desperate and the experienced characters who seem to be able to see through things better than the innocent and forever-seraching-for-what-they-don't-even-know ones. Apparently Tamehisa Sakuma (the older doctor friend) is the one who gave the best timely advice. The words he said to Sakurako in the kitchen when she was searching for wine were the ones which I will remember (:

Tsutsumi Shinichi's disposition is whoa. Think he is the best person to act as Osuke with his natural flair and face which says everything: steady, dependable and sensitive. Even Kaneshiro Takeshi won't be able to take this role, the disposition needed is just unique. Tsutsumi Shinichi's disposition and blurblur face totally matched the character's silly romantic personality of a mathematician who used to be able to give up even his loved one for numbers and formulas but regretted like crazy for more than seven years after that. How should I describe his personality? Hmm.. A very compassionate, kind and deeply passionate woodblock? (: I went to find out about the actor's biodata cuz really too interested le. Hahaha~ Really hua chi la, well Singapore does not really have actors of such quality worthy of our interest mah. But then found out that he's 45 now liao wor. Bleah. Old le. Had a surprise too. His birthdate and bloodtype are similar to someone I know! What a coincedence. The actor also won in the 27th Television Drama Academy Awards as the Best Supporting Actor in this drama. Pro lor.

Matsushima Nanako~ She's a model lor. Of course pretty la (:

Good thing that there's a great theme song for the drama too~

Graded 6.5-7/10! (:
